My Life Changes of 2024

These are some of the things I went through and accomplished in the past year. I am so grateful for such a transformative year.

Changed Majors

My first semester freshman year I was studying Architectural Engineering, taking Calculus 3 and physics classes. I was getting good grades and all, but I felt too passionless, stressed, and miserable. I realized I actually wanted to open up my own bakery, so I switched my major to Business.

Dropped out of College

As I spent another semester in school, I was so bored of the repetition—writing the same essays I wrote years ago, giving the same speeches, working on the same group projects. I hadn’t been learning a single thing for months. I was eager for change so I could act and create—feeling so done wasting my time and youth.

Applied to Pastry School

I applied and toured a pastry school to further my baking education and skills. I was thrilled thinking about being able to start during summertime, howwwwever I did not end up going because of the tuition cost and 1-2 hour commute there (as someone who had driven on the freeway like twice, I was not prepared for that everyday).

Downloaded a Dating App for the First Time

My friend got me to download Hinge and make accounts with her. It was lowkey scary at first but then it just became funny and entertaining. I didn’t go on a real date or find a boyfriend from there. I just couldn’t get past the idea of talking to someone on the internet and then meeting them in person. But it honestly helped me get over my obsession with male validation—I used to struggle with growing up, especially from lacking attention from guys in high school. After getting likes and flirting with guys I realized that validation didn’t matter so much to me. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it!

Quit my Job

My excuse to leave my job was the idea that I would be attending pastry school in LA, but honestly I had grown miserable there. It caused me so much stress and anxiety being in there all the time. I loved my coworkers but I was ready for new energy.

Starting my Own Bakery

Honestly, not going pastry school was a blessing in disguise. I was able to start making and selling baked goods from the comfort of my home. I designed my own website for ordering, created a instagram account for posting, learned how to calculate food costs and prices, tested new recipes all the time, and got to share my love to others through desserts I made.

Moved in with my Friend

My mom and I have lived with roommates throughout my childhood, and I finally reached the age where one of my friends could be a roommate. It was so much fun having a bestie built into my everyday routine and bugging her whenever I wanted.

Got my Bloodwork Done

I got my blood work done and learned all about my nutrient deficiencies, allergies, and other health levels. I started doing things like cutting out refined sugars, eating anti-inflammatory foods, doing lymphatic drainage, and more. Overall it motivated me to make more changes in my life to live a more holistic life and heal.

Started my Own Wellness Blog

Getting my bloodwork done really motivated me to change my bakery goal. I still am a sweet tooth girl, I just shifted my goals for what I am building. I started my own blog, Najoni Sade, and began posting about healthier baking and eating on instagram.
