Grounding: Your Body is Asking for It

Do you ever find yourself feeling so stuck with anxious consuming your mind. Or perhaps you feel disconnected from the world. Irritated? Overwhelmed or overthinking?

There is a really good chance that you are in need of grounding.

When you lack a sense of grounding, your body doesn’t know how to feel safe. Your nervous system is constantly prepared to fight, flee, or freeze—or perhaps you are already stuck in one of these boxes.

Society romanticizes waking up at 5am, doing a intense workout, going to work indoors 9-5, being addicted to caffeine all day, coming home to stare at  electronics all night, and then people wonder why they can’t fall asleep at night. Your body is filled with stressed and pent-up emotions wanting to be released!!!!

Society will tell you  “OH OH, YOU NEED MORE PROTEIN, YOU NEED THIS PILL OR THIS POWDER, OH OH JUST GO OUT DRINKING OR SMOKING TO RELIEVE SOME STRESS” and a million other wrong solutions.

But those are band-aids on a deeper wound.

You don’t need another product. You need a return to presence.

You need grounding.

 What is Grounding, Really?

Grounding is a practice of reconnecting back to the Earth. It’s not just about going outside barefoot—it’s how we come back to ourselves.

When you are ground, you are one with the Earth and all it’s positivity can offer you a sense of zen, strength, and comfort. It brings your attention back to the present, and away from stress and anxiety. Basically like a reset button. Grounding helps your nervous system feel like everything is okay and that you are safe.

Human beings are literally made from the Earth—and we return to it after we die. But that connection isn’t just important at the end or beginning of life. We NEED it while we are ALIVE. Our bodies and inner peace depend on it.

We weren’t meant to live disconnected, indoors all day, stuck in cites, breathing in toxic air, and absorbing constant noise. We are designed to be in the grass, swim in waters, feel the warmth of the sun, listen to the serenity, and live in the rhythm of nature.

Your mind, body, and soul thrive when it’s nurtured by Earth’s energy everyday.

To put it simply…

Go touch some grass.

Lay in a bed of it.

Dance in it.

(it really REALLY helps you).
